There is nothing to shave. They are just stuck on there with some double sided tape/adhesive. Dont use a heat gun, thats way to much direct heat. Use a hair drier and just warm up the area to soften the adhesive. Take some fishing string or some other kind of strong string and once the emblem area is good and warm just work the string behind the emblem to break the bond. Then you can use some goo gone or sticker remover from an autoparts store to remove the remaining adhesive. Hit it with some compound, sealer, wax and you should be good to go.

You don't need a heat gun and please don't ask a shop to do this for you. Just get some floss or fishing line and then get some bug/tar remover (like from detailed image). Spray it on and let the adhesive soak it up for a minute or two then slowly work the line in. That's it, you won't mess your paint up, you'll just need to polish/wax where the emblem used to be since it is now exposed paint

all my work is done in my garage lol

there is no where near here that does any kind of work that I would trust my G to. If you HAVE to get work done by a shop, drive to ATL and go to Forged Performance. that's the only shop that will touch my G

that being said, if you need help working on the G at all, I'd be more than happy to help. But for things like coilover installs, tire changes, etc Forged is my go to shop

I stay there for the weekend, I've known the guys at Forged for a long time. I wouldn't drive up there and then just turn around and drive back lol

but for real, there are ZERO places around here that I would ever trust my car with

Use a hair blowdryer, it is more safer than a heatgun.. Or leave your car outside at the sun for a few hours and use fishing line to remove it.

Then use goo-off or go-gone to remove the old 3m tape.

Get it warm (I use a little space heater for a few minutes, or just leave it in the hot sun), use a piece of nylon string, soak the emblem adhesive and the string with some sort of orange cleaner or something, then use the string to remove the emblem. The wet string will go through warm adhesive almost like butter.

Pretty Easy to Do!

Just heat lightly with a hair dryer.
Slide some fishing line behind the emblems/lettering and pull through.
Remove the remaining adhesive with rubbing alcohol.

What do you think of my new emblems???
Added some JDM Fava!

Walant007, if youre gonna do the skyline conversion, take the infiniti emblem off and get the nissan one :P

and OP, just use a hair dryer, some floss, and have like 30 min to kill. patience is key. its really simple and you'll laugh at how easy it is after you remove your first piece. they really come off easily after sitting in the sun for a while or after some time under a hair dryer.
