The tips clear just fine, but they are close. It isn't a problem at all though, on the V1 diffuser the tips were even closer and after almost a year there was no melting or cracking whatsoever. Even so if anyone was worried about it, it'd be easy enough to adjust the tips so they were further away

Not really a fan of the "black mess" but I love the diffuser itsself!
