Brutal Winter on Paint - Detailing help needed ...

My xS is almost one year old and is Aspen Pearl. I had the body clayed and a sealant applied when it was brand new right after I took delivery. Now after a brutal winter in Canada, I notice lots of swirl marks and some nail rusts bonded to the paint. The front passenger door also has a couple of light scratches (probably from people walking by and scratched it lengthwise with their bags or something!). Would like to get it detailed but not sure if Carnauba Waxing (or a synthetic sealant) would remove the minor swirl marks on my pearl white paint or do I need high speed polishing?

Any good detailing place in the Toronto area?

To remove swirls, you need an aggressive polish. After that, apply the wax or poly sealant.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I figured I would need to do.

Visit Adam's Polishes , they have a number of videos that will show you how to detail your car and get rid of swirls, small scratches, etc. Although I use their products and am very happy, these videos can be considered generic as they define a process that will work with anyones product.

get an orbital polisher (PC7424xp or something) if you want to save money over the long-term. If you need help with the products you can ask/search in the detailing forum. There's also a lot of videos on YT to help.

www.detailedimage.com. has some guides with step by step instructions

you can buy your supplies at eShine Canada, Car, Wax, Polish, Polisher, Tire Dressings, Detailing Supplies, RV, Truck, Boat, Automotive, upholstery, marine, convertible, Microfiber

detailers in toronto area

I was at the car show last year at the convention center and came across a booth downstairs that claims to have the worlds best wax. in fact thats what they call it. it is formulated by the company AUTOBAHN. They are located in Vaughn. i bought some of their products but i think that they have the best tools to do the job at their facility. they are in the phone book.
