I think eyelids would give a more integrated look than paint but I think paint might look OK too.

I'm surpised that I'm the first person who has thought of this mod.

Some eyelids are fiberglass I think. What are some other materials used for eyelids or is fiberglass far and away the most common?

If I wanted to get some custom eyelids made then how would I go about doing that? How hard would this be or would this be prohibitively expensive?

Do up a sample Bat and send em over. I'll do a DIY post to show how they look.

4dr - you're going to be the first to try this out?

Do you have a coupe to try this on? (your username seems to indicate you drive a sedan)

Lol I think they're called eyelids because they cover the top of the light similar to the way an eyelid covers the top of an eye.
I think these would look best with actual plastic covers paint matched. I know Jose @ IONIC (vendor in here) made them for the G35. Hit him up and ask...

I'm just curious to see how it looks so I can get a better idea about how this might look on the G37.
that thread is buried somewhere on the g35driver side. I ll try and find it but I give no guarantees.

I found a pic of that while googling. They look good I think. I think they provide a slightly more agressive stance.

Of course - the TL eyelids for the g35 are pretty subtle - they really only cover up the top edges of the tail light.

What I'm wanting would cover up the top 1/4 of the tail light.
