Time to attempt to hook up an oil temp gauge

So yesterday i went out with my grandpa and we went for some spirited driving (he loves it). Anyways i noticed the water temp gauge went a little higher then it normally is. (we did a lot of 0-100kph pulls). Im the kind of guy who want to know everything that going on, no matter how unimportant.

So ive decided im going to get a STRI Xline oil temp/pressure gauges (pressure later). Not 100% on where im going to mount them but ill figure it out.

So im wonder which is the best thermostatic plate to get for this. I know GTM sells them, but it has two oil cooler attatchments which im not sure if they can be sealed or not. Glowshiftgauges.com sells a plate like the thermostatic (minus the thermometer part) but im not sure if they are cheap. Or can you hook up the GTM oil distributer adapter to the stock engine block without the plate. The picture of the oil distributer seems to be connected to the engine block without the need for the thermostatic plate? (GTM Motorsports ENGINE EXTERNALS GTM Oil Distribution Adapter Also does anyone have experience with STRI gauges? Do they come will all the necessary hardware? if not where can i buy the harness to hook up a oil temp sensor?

Ive never hooked up a gauge but im confident i can do it!

Id like weiboy to chime in because i know we talked about this before in an old thread, he said the GTM plate is good, but i dont know if those oil coooler connectors can be plugged!

Oh and i dont plan on the HKS of blitz nav screen module, id much rather have physical gauges.

Im Thinking of mounting thim like this:

Any advice on how to do it?

hey buddy, i'm sure you can find some plugs to plug up the inlet, outlet on the sandwich adapter but what about the sensor for your oil temp gauge? will it be the correct size? you have to find out if the sensor and the sandwich adapter is the same threadings also. for the oil pressure gauge you can use GTM distribution block, just gotta make sure it's compatible with the sensor for the gauge. best way to get the correct info is to email:

By the way, i know you have the HKS module (not the blitz right?) but i found a deal on STRI Xline gauges (1 oil pressure, i oil temp and 1 volt gauge) for 219 shipped to canada. If anyone is interested ill post a link, im talking to JEBperfomance about matching the deal

Same here, I started out with a few hundred bucks as the weeks go by I noticed I am actually saving a lot of money. I guess it all depends on how badly you really want it. If a broke @ss like myself can do it you definately can LOL
