Painting vs tinting tail lights

I can't really decide between paiting or tinting my tail lights. Alot of people say that painting them looks better but if I were to get pulled over I don't see how a body shop would be able to undo that without me having to buy new covers. One shop I visited today said they only do overlays, and that they've never had any customer complaints of it peeling off over time or what have you. Seems safer, but not sure if it would match the quality of paint. Opinions?

Paint them. I think overlays suck, there is ALWAYS bubbling and it will always be obvious they are overlays IMO.

If you need to take the paint off you can use nail polish remover. Ive done it to my lights before when I wanted to repaint them darker.

And definitely paint them yourself, don't pay some shop to do it for you when it takes one day and $10 of paint

Nail polish remover works..... But takes forever!!!! Use laquer thinner then use a rubbing compound to bring the shine back

when I had my 35 i tinted them w/ bluebat opaque black covered. I ran w/ them for almost 2 months. Realized...he// yeah, LOVE IT...so I took the vinyl off and had them painted.

So take my advice...go NON perminant until you figure out what you want to do 100%. Then when you realize what you like, make it perminant.

paint is the way to go. Use good paint & the correct amount of clearcoat they will look amazing.
tinted is meh,not so nice after a while, unless you like swirls on your tailights.
