Canadian owners of 2010 G sedans (or anyone with daytime running lights)

I live in Canada with a 2010 G37xS. The car's only about 2 months old. When I first got the car I noticed that night beams are always on, even during the day. At first I thought it was just the daytime lights but at nights the intensity of the lights do not change when I turn them on.

Basically it seems that night beams are always on (with the signal lights turned on as well). The only change from turning on the lights occurs on the interior of the car.

I made a similar post before when I first got the car, but had gotten the impression that this was the norm. However yesterday, I saw another G37 sedan on the road coming in from the opposite direction and that car did not have night beams or signal lights turned on. I'm assuming there is something wrong with the switch on mine, but I would like for someone to confirm if I do indeed have a problem. Thanks

i just leave mine on auto and I have also noticed that there's no difference between the daylight ones and when I turn the lights "ON".

It appears that the 2010 models have the HID's always on. The 2009 (Also G37) do not.

At least that's my conclusion based on observation.

I've had a couple 2010's as courtesy cars and noticed this immediately. The HID lights are the DRLs. The 2010's are the face-lifted sedans and they updated the lighting system to HID DRLs. The 07-09 had the halogen bulb DRL. This kind of makes the headlight switch redundant. I can't remember if the tail lights came on or not during the day but I distincly remember being behind a pick-up in traffic and I could not turn the HIDs off.
Was the other sedan the 07-09 front end or 10+?

I have a 2010 G37X Sedan and my DLR's which are my HIDs are always on so this is normal.
