You can try and just use the supplied 3m double sided tape and it should be fine... I choose to drill as did Raul. You're not exactly "splicing wires"... Wire crimps are extremely easy to use, just strip the wire housing a bit, stick it in the crimp and squeeze.. simple as that.
If it makes you feel any better my Seibon spoiler is only held on with 3m tape and isn't going anywhere..
Here is a pic of the eBay spoiler:
Here is the Seibon one w/ no rear brake light:

I have experience with both OEM and non-OEM spoilers. No matter what, it is recommended by the company (whether you get the factory or ebay part) to drill holes on the trunk. For those non-OEM spoilers, the unit it self simply goes over the chrome trim. Why? because unlike the OEM spoiler, the non-OEM spoiler does not have the mount --which is inside the spoiler--to correctly place the reverse camera. However, the OEM spoiler requires the removal of the chrome piece to correctly pass the wires which will light up the 3rd brake light and make the camera functional. The OEM spoiler uses the proper male/female plugs to connect the third brake light and reverse camera into the wires which are already there from the factory (directly underneath the trunk so that you wont have to run long wires). The non-OEM spoilers; well, they are a little bit of a challenge. You have to run the third brake light wire all the way to the back of the trunk, splice open the wires, and correctly connect them using either electrical tape and/or wire connectors.
hope this makes sense, it kinda does to me. lol
edit: by the way, both OEM and non-OEM spoilers have double sided tape to ensure all edges are properly intact with the car.

^Makes perfect sense to me Ant...
But this guy does not have the rear camera (correct me if I'm wrong OP).. The eBay spoiler that both myself and Raul have had require removing the chrome trim to mount, but I could understand how it might be different for you lucky guys with the Nav/camera LOL
Easy, Perfect fit, no headache - go for the OEM factory spoiler
For those that wanna save a buck and don't mind doing the work themselves, the eBay option is available.

OEM does required you to drill holes to properly mount it .... you can choose not to drill holes and only use tape if you want to not mount it properly.

I installed the OEM spoiler. If you have the right tools, are fairly handy, can follow instructions and are NOT in a rush ..... it's more intimidating than hard.
