Interior Led Lights

Has anyone had any problems with their interior led lights. I replaced all of my interior lights with leds and they seem to stay on when the car is on and when the door is closed. They only stay on dim when the car is started, and the little personal safe light isn't working anymore.

At night when my car is on and my head lights are switched on, my leds in the car have a very faint, super dim glow to them that's barely noticible unless your looking right at them, its not distracting to me or anything, in fact i kinda like it, especially on the door one cuz there's a pleaseant little glow down there

I believe (i may be wrong) that the led's drain the same amount of power when off as the standard lights, but the resistor in the led's is weak enough to allow that energy to slightly power the leds. its nothing to worry about!

This is correct, LEDs have lower resistance, which allows more current to flow, thus lighting them longer.

It's the old V = I x R, where V is voltage, I is current, and R is resistance.

Steveo47 is right, its nothing to worry about.

The LEDS constantly stay on because they require much less power to turn on than normal bulbs. Ever notice how when you close your doors the lights dim alot faster and shut of alot sooner? The resisters built into the car are expecting the bulbs to dim at 4 volts not 1 volt. The car is designed to run standard bulbs not LEDS and there is constant running voltage going through your car (thats why most installers tell you to remove the round before installing any electrical mods.) The LEDS can tun on with as little as 1.37v so if they were to turn all your leds and leave your car in your garage it will take roughly a year for them to eat your battery.

V-leds is the only company i know of that use double resisters to combat that exact issue. they also charge twice everybody else charges.

You get what you pay for. Over on the interior lighting section of the forum, see how many people have burnt out/defective LED's from companies other than V-LED and then see how many complaints V-LED users have. I rest my case ....

completely irrelevant but i just had an exam on the whole V=IR and P=IV formulas today in ap physics haha. just seeing someone type that made me chuckle.
