I agree HIDs will give the best light output...i just don't like the way they look from oncoming. it just looks too bright and too much light from there. i get so annoyed with i get blinded by people driving with HID fogs on all the time, even in daylight.
I changed mine to Höen yellow "Endurance" bulbs a few months ago. It took me about 10 minutes per side by partially removing the splash shield under the car.
do you have pics of the Hoen Endurance? i was thinking of getting them.
I was looking for an easy upgrade without melting-lens issues or ballasts so no HIDs for me. I also tried just the 3 bolts under the foglamp but there was no way I could get my wrist through the tiny space. I guess I didn't want to bend the plastic cover too much.

No, I'll try to remember to take some pics tonight, but to me they look the same as the pics posted by sniper27 in this thread of his Nokya 3000K fog lights. (I currently have Nokya yellow fogs in my SUV too)
If there is any difference in color or brightness between the Nokya, PIAA, and Hoen bulbs, its going to be minor and you would really need to see side-by-side comparison pics taken with the same camera.

So the HIDs require the ballast upgrade as well making the switch out a more involved process. I recall seeing other threads changing out the headlights to HID with the ballast change process in photos as well. I am assuming this is an additional potential headache for a noob upgrader. Especially relating to electrical wiring systems which has always been a nightmare for me in the past.
I'll try the H8s to start and see how I feel about the difference. If I am still not satisfied, I'll try to tackle the HIDs.
