2012 G to have LED front Strips
#33
Actually the newer Audi LED's front strip are pretty cool looking. See them a lot in my rear view mirror. Infiniti just needs to add an option in the nav/screen unit to enable or disable daytime running and everyone can be happy.

I'd just be happy with drls. The Audi LEDs look so nice because they are carefully integrated into the headlight housing complete with nice curves and curls and the leds actually have a housing of their own of varying width and thickness. A lot design went into those things, they are no afterthought, and consequently they look great.
Merc, on the other hand, looks like the car design was set in place, production of parts was tooled up and ready to go, and then marketing came in and said hey! The focus groups say we need LEDs ! Add 'em! Kia, on the other hand appears to have integrated LEDs into their design as well. Incidentally, they employ Audi's lead designer now.

I hope they're easily servicable...granted 30-50K run hours on average but if not they can really be a pain, just one out and it looks like trash. My current problem with the Ironman mod.

There have been a few parties where Infiniti showed up first:
1. Swiveling headlights was first seen on a Infiniti. Citroen had this in 1967 and Tucker before them in 1948
2. voice-activated navigation controls was first introduced by Infiniti.in the US market only
3. Rear view camera being standard was a first by Infiniti (it was actually Nissan but still). I'll give you this one :-)
4. Lane departure warning system.MB had this two years before Infinit implemented it

LEDs are the future lighting. Think about it:
1) They're replacing LCD TVs
2) LED light bulbs are coming out now to soon replace those energy saving CFL light bulbs
3) LEDs are being used on city street lights now- our city is slowly switching to them since they are becoming brighter and less expensive
4) LEDs use less energy, can be brighter, last way longer, and emit little to no heat.
Conclusion: LEDs are here to stay for a long time until some newer light source is developed or discovered.
