send me the link of the gauge you're about to buy. let me check it out for ya

no! i'm sure he knows about it.
Ya i know about the Airbag, i think i said that a few posts up, thats one of my dilemma's.

im looking at:

http://www.stri-racing.com/x-line.html
the X-line is about 50$ cheaper, i dont really think its necessary to have a stepper motor, but still a bit on the fence about that. Im thinking i might as well get the best one. DSD line have the stepper motors. i sent them an email today about how they mount to the a pillar, should get an response tomorrow.

I was also looking at AEM gauges, but i think the STRI will do

For that adapter, can i assume i dont have to flush the oil? i would like to avoid that if possible.

alright, idk anything about those gauges you listed. do you know what does it comes with??? like what kind of hardware and electrical wirings. take a look at this AEM kit. it comes with everything you pretty much need with the exception of that oil sender distribution block. does yours comes with all this?

Weiboy, did you install the HKS camp2 yourself? How does it actually connect

And what if my car doesn't have boost?

all DIY!
it'll work regardless you have boost or not cuz it's optional sensors that you have to buy. you can get the oil pressure, oil temperature. those 2 are useful for N/A.

the HKS connects directly onto your OBD2 port and a video and audio output from the HKS. the car itself will power the unit from the OBD2 and all you have to do is hook it up to your factory screen. there's 2 ways to do it, 08-09 Infiniti's have the audio video input inside the center console and that's one way. the other way is do a piggy back borrowing the factory screen but you'll have to buy a module to do that. ($350 bucks!) i went with the piggy back route cuz i can listen to music while monitoring the gauges.

Im not sure, i havent got a reply from STRI yet. But, i do like the AEM gauges, they have some cool LCD ones as well. All the wiring seems pretty basic, im not worried about that, the GTM accessory should work with this is seems. That leaves one question, how to mount to the A pillar

Wait... so it just connects to the OBD port and it'll monitor your temps and pressures?? sorry, I'm a noob to this.

Steve, sorry if I'm hijacking your thread....

yes, the wirings are simple but this one is important:
you see that copper plug right above the gauge. that needs to be tapped into your car's oil pressure sensor but there's only one hole on your engine block and that's why i recommended you to buy GTM's oil distribution block.

i'm really not sure if you should mount it on the A-Pillar. we do have airbags there and i don't think you want to mess with it lol. you can try that triple pod that mounts onto the dash. i'm pretty sure you gonna need to modify it to sit flush but it's doable.

yes it'll read some of the ECU's data but won't read the important stuff like.

OIL TEMP
OIL PRESSURE
FUEL PRESSURE
BOOST

those are optional sensors you'll need to buy.

if you're looking into a system like the HKS why not consider this!

i heard it'll read your A/F ratio right off the box without any additional sensors which is good. it looks a lot cooler than the HKS. read the specs, you might think about this instead of the HKS.

Yeah i dunno, A pillar is the best spot, but last thing i want it to get into an accident, and my gauges to hit me in the head, i think the cluster is a bit ricey, above the gauges to the left (on the dash, but close to the a pillar)

It does looks nice having gauges on the A Pillar. Whatever you do just be very careful putting holes through there. I would recommend having a pro to fabricate you the pillar pod if you insist of mounting it there.
