Help License plate behind mesh sport bumper

License plate behind mesh sport bumper
In MD we have to display a front license plate or get a 50$ ticket each time they pull you over. I was thinking about placing my plate on the left behind the center mesh of the sport bumper.. Has anyone done this? Is it possible?
I was thinking it could possibly restrict some air flow but it seems most the air comes through the grille to the radiator anyway.
I would cut the plate to make it shorter so it was only about 7 inches tall.

But will people, meaning cops really be able to see it through the mesh? They'll probably give you a ticket anyway for not displaying is clear sight, or proper mountain position or something. Cause even here in CA were supposed to display a front plate, but if it's on the dash in the windshield you still will be given a citation.
I just use the stillen tow hook license bracket and take it on and off when I go to shows so I didn't have to drill my bumper or get a ticket.
