Yellow Turn Signal Lenses

Hey all, I have a 2010 Convertible. I've already updated bulbs for the parking lights (LED), head (6000k) and fog lights (HID 6000k kit) and am very happy w/the results.

What I don't love is the yellow turn signal lense on each side. I've seen pics of a clear lense (I presume) with just LED's. Would love to have amber (yellow) LED's or the one's that switch from white to amber for just the front turn signals.

Can anyone help me and let me know if there is any way to do just this mod without redoing the entire lighting unit or even as a 2nd choice can the yellow lens be changed somehow to a clear one and then I can use an amber bulb.

Please let me know my options and describe where/how to get this done.

Thank you so much, loving this forum!!!

clear lens or installing LED strips will require to open up your housing. best you can do without tampering with your lights is just install a LED on the existing bulb socket for better brightness.

I really want to get rid of the yellow lens so I guess I do need to open housing. Does anyone know if anyone sells a replacement clear lense for the part that is yellow? I presume I can then use yellow bulb...just want to get rid of the yellow lense cover.

well, there's no replacement headlight housing parts available. your best bet is to get them painted to your color of choice. removing them isn't gonna work cuz it'll leave a few ugly holes, pretty sure you don't want that.

Weiboy is talking about the side markers. If you are talking about the actual turn signal bulbs, just get some chrome-dome bulbs from www.autolumination.com Tail Light Brake Light Turn Signal LED Bulbs. They are chrome when not illuminated (taking out any unsightly yellow) and amber when illuminated (thus being legal).

Ive got them and LOVE them. And they are super easy to change out too.

Painting the yellow part MAY be illegal. I think its considered a reflect and cars are suppost to have X amount of them. My buddy got a skyline from japan (duh) and in canadian customs they installed reflectors on it to make it street legal. I dunno about anywhere else, but in canada you need a certain amount of reflectors. Then again maybe you can have clear reflectors? i dont know

its illegal, but I would see it as similar to illegal tinting?
Like Poilice could catch you but most likely you won't.
Is it similar degree between illegal tinting and no amber reflector?

Thats why you should get a nice wheels, so cops stare at it, and not at the headlight.
