Small lights under the fogs - How do they work?

So I've been looking at pics on here, and noticed that there is a small light under the fog light bulb... What kind of light is that? Is it something that is on all the time, or is it on when your headlights are off? If so, is there any way to delete it? I prefer to have complete control over all the lights on the front of the car.

Thanks,
M

I think you mean the parking lights? Turn the headlight swithc on halfway. Then go look and see if the bulbs you are talking about are lit. They are also on all the time when the headlights are on. Or you can turn the switch halfway to the "on" position and have just the parking lights on.

I think... There's the turn signal, which is above the lo/hi, the side marker strip, the fog, and then the bulb under the fog... Is that the parking lamp?

BTW, I don't have my car yet. I'm just wondering so I can figure out whether I should order an LED replacement for it so I can swap them as soon as my car arrives.

Just went and looked. Yes, it's the parking light. It's a 194/168 wedge bulb. LEDs are not recommended because of the heat inside the housing that can cause them to burn out prematurely but lots of people probably do it anyway.

So it's amber? Would there be any way to just remove it completely without the dashboard bugging me or anything?

#5. You can remove them but better get some LEDs. 194, 168, T10, 158, 2825 Wedge Bulbs are all the same.

I turned the wheel to 1 side, unclip the inner fender half way, put my hand in there and play with it. Took like 5 minutes for each side.

I'd get LEDs, but they would contrast fugly against the 8000K bulbs I'm getting for the heads and fogs... Unless I go with blue, but I really don't need to get pulled over.

Edit: Would these be GTG?

Maybe I should get both 6000K and blue and just compare? I mean it's ten bucks a set.

8000k is like asking them to pull you over.

Been running 8000K on my BMW, have yet to be pulled for it. Salem cops are weird.

the LED's for the parking lights are nice and bright but I got tired of them malfunctioning due to heat and they become strobe lights.

No I use PIAA ultrawhites, but it has a hint of purple in it.

Yep, Oregon is definitely weird. And here I was thinking this was an uber-progressive state.

Wow, those 8000Ks are a lot more blue than mine... Must be that my headlights optics are old and have yellowed a bit... I mean, I got new lenses (glass, yea it's that old) and polished the yellow out of the inner plastic lenses, but the projector must have aged too.

Though, I'm sure the camera added some blue too. My two cameras tend to make lights bluer than they really are in the dark, so I would assume this a trait typical of all cameras.

Is there any way to have them stay on all the time?
