As for the headlights, one of the popular mods puts a ring of colored LEDs around the projector, ala the Ironman mod. These LEDs all but disappear when the headlights are turned on. Even the illegal tints of red and blue in the front don't add to blinding the driver.
While there IS some illegal light modding going on, like drivers out there with complete black out of their tails, and drivers with brighter headlights (illegal?). But that shouldn't deter the larger amount of G37 drivers that want to make harmless mods to their lights to stand out and not look run-of-the-mill. Mod on, but with safety in mind.

As the owner of a stock '08 I don't understand this desire to mod the lights. I understand owners want their cars to stand out, or not look run-of-the-mill. What puzzles me is reducing the visibility of the brake and taillights. Aren't folks concerned about increasing their risk of collisions? Headlight mods are equally mysterious to me. What's with all the illegal lights? Aren't many of them creating difficulties for oncoming drivers? If so, why would one want a night-blinded driver headed in his direction?
No matter what caused the accident, the fault would go against the guy that altered his rear lights, by adding a dark film over them. All the other driver would have to do is point out that the car he hit had the back lights altered and he couldn't see them.
