^ WHS. Give it sometime, it will soon start to look similar once the seats are broken in and leather is exposed more.

I had this done on my 2009 and one thing that is different is the material is softer than the passenger side. The rest seems to be the same. The bubble is also back but not nearly as bad. It actually looks similar to the driver's seat I had in a 2003 Acura CL-S. Still sucks, though. I have always carried my wallet in my front pocket and I weigh 180 pounds so I am not sure WTH the problem is.

I haven't done this because most post here say that ones who have done it get the dreaded bubble back. Whats the point?

The 08's also had different driver and passenger seats. I am more curious about the color. Since I traded in my 08 for my 10, I have had a feeling that the new graphite interior is a touch lighter than my old one. This pic seems to bear that out...

Yeah I don't think it'll ever truly match color. I'm pretty sure even when the car was brand new, the seat was not that light in color, and I get a feeling that it won't "break in" like some of you are claiming. I had an 09 loaner a month ago with seats that were similar material. The car had 16K miles on it, and the seats looked very similar to what I have right now.

Well I'm still a bit irritated by the slight color difference. But I guess I'll have to live with it...at least until I can somehow get a bubble to form on the other side...
The 08's didn't match, I have a 08 Journey and the pattern is different. I noticed this the first day I got the car. Went online and every pic I could find of the seats showed the same thing. I think it's been this way from day one with the G37.

LOL you're right, I'm trippin.

Anyway, I guess I'll get over it. I really want to go find an 09 or 10 G37 sport and try the thigh supports out. I swear there's not as much air getting in anymore. Either that or the seats are much larger in width so I can't feel the difference.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

Thats the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen!!! FYI ... the 09 seats have the same issue. Welll mine is an 09 produced in 08 ... I'm not sure what the 2010 model produced in 09 is like. Good luck to you !!!!!!

You're seeing the difference between clean new leather and dirty, over-conditioned leather. You need to thoroughly clean all the crap off your passenger seat, and skip the conditioner. These seats - much like most auto leather - are vinyl coated, and conditioners just sit on the surface and attract dust. This contributes to cracking and wear.

Unless you have aniline (noncoated, porous) leather, conditioners are practically worthless. That "sheen" you have on there, though, typically means your seat is dirty and needs to be scrubbed clean.

I dont think it's that the seat is dirty or over conditioned. the old seat is an ENTIRELY darker color than the new seat...not just blotches or certain areas.

Maybe over time (heat specifically) oils are released from the leather which make it change to a darker color?

Another thought: the color difference immediately reminded me of tile/brick/marble. Have you ever bought a bunch of tile and then you realized you didnt buy enough or maybe one broke and you need to replace it? You go back and buy what LOOKS like the same color...but its really just a tad darker or lighter? Thats because all the tile comes in batches. They mix the batches and they turn out a certain color, so THOSE match...but ANOTHER batch might not be the exact color the last one was.

Maybe thats whats going on here? Maybe the leather infiniti used in 08 was dyed a certain color and that color was different in 09 and then again in 10?

Just food for thought :P

Ahh, don't think the leather seats are " vinyl coated". Leather is cured with dye and some other chemicals. I've found the best product for leather is mink oil.
