Help Anyone modified the front thigh support on Sport seats?

Anyone modified the front thigh support on Sport seats?
I like the seats, but my wife is 5'1" and the seats are a little deep for her. I've thought about removing the thigh support part and having an interior shop shorten and reform it a bit utilizing the factory material so it looks stock. Anyone else do this?

my wife is 4'-11 and manages to do fine without modification....she just needs to adjust the seat.
