Just did LED Upgrade-What I Used; PIC's Added

First I decided to go with as many 5000k temperature bulbs as possible. The reason being that sometimes 6000k bulbs might have a tint of blue, which I didn’t want. I wanted as white as possible.

Before I get flamed I know 6500k is daylight. I know about Kelvin and CRI from bias lighting ….

Vanity Lights:
Bought them from Autolumination …. They are just about the only ones with the correct size (31mm). Scroll down on this page until you see “Vanity Mini 3 Led SMT Festoon” (or search that page)
Festoon Dome Lights

Dome (aka map), Door & License Plate Lights:
Got these from V-LED’s ..very impressed with them, quality bulbs and offered a 5000k bulb. Some people have gone with 12LED bulbs for their maps but frankly I think these 5 LED’s are plenty bright enough.
2 HID 5K WHITE SMT 5 LED LIGHT BULBS 194 168 158 2821

Trunk Lights:
First I tried a 9 LED bulb but it wasn’t very bright, then I went with a 18 LED 921 bulb and it’s great, can’t close the little plastic dome over the light bulb but no biggie, you can’t see it anyhow. It’s the first bulb on this page.
906 921 Interior Lights

Back Up Lights:
I ordered these for the back-up lights but waiting for the weather to warm up to install, don’t want any clips to break.
V-LEDS HID WHITE 19 M-SMT 8W HIGH POWER BULBS 917 918 920 921 922 923

Parking (aka City) Lights:
Just order these LED’s (haven’t gotten yet). Wanted to whiten up the front lights to match the headlights (leaving those alone). I order these since they are bright and have a heat sync. LED’s can be heat sensitive so since they are in the headlight/fog housing (sort of) I decided on them. I won’t install these for a while.
iJDMTOY JDM Xenon White/Ultra Blue 2W High Power T10 LED bulbs for parking city lights, side door lights, license plate lights, etc

If the LED’s don’t work out, I’ll go with PIAA bulbs:
PIAA X-treme White Wedge Bulb

Fog Lights:
Ordered these but have not got them yet and won’t install for a while.
White H1 Headlight Bulb 4500K Polarg Alpha White Series

For everything I have replace already (trunk, door, vanity, map, license, glove box and back-up) it’s very easy and the forums are full of DIY to follow. I have to agree with everyone that’s done this …. Looks pretty good, cheap mod.

Update: I added a little bit better quality pics plus the back-up lights (which are great). I added the following LED for the glove box light but I could not get enough light to take a picture, but the LED is much brighter than the stock bulb.
Glove Box LED

I also added the OEM ambient lighting kit and again, that was too dim to get a decent picture but it looks great! Overpriced but it really does add a nice effect. Fogs and Parking are the only ones left, as soon as I can get my fat fingers in there.

I bought the Non hi-power version of those VLED back up lights a while back.

They significantly dimished light output so they are sitting in my glove box right now. Good thing you went with the Hi-Power back up lights, hopefully they are a lot brighter than the ones I got.

Someone else on the forum got the high powered (thats where I got the link from to find them on V-LED) and the posts & comments from him said they were very bright. Not cheap though .... they were the hardest to pull the trigger on.

I promised pics but I was laid up for almost a week with a bad back. I have pics now but for my access level it looks like I can only reference them via a URL. Is there a way to attach them directly?

Beat way to post pics is with photobucket. Upload them onto the site then copy paste the IMG link onto the thread and well see the pictures right in the post!
