OP,

Thanks for showing me this interior LED conversion. Just did it last night and they look awesome (map, doors, license plate)! I used the same ones as you and you're right, the 5000K are definitely bright enough (your pics don't do them just).

Hey 2008G-man, thanks for all the info about the interior lights.. i am looking to change the map (dome), door sills and license plate lights but Im not sure about sets of the Vleds to buy? Ive checked their website with the link you provided for those specific lights and they are about $10 per pair, but was wondering about how many pairs would I need just to replace the map, door sill and license plate lights?

You need three pairs, 6 bulbs altogether. There are 2 for the map (aka dome), 2 for doors and 2 for plates. Personally since I liked the bulbs so much I ordered a few replacements to have on hand just in case.

Cool, it adds a very nice touch for not much money. You need a good digital SLR to take night time low light pics of any quality. Some have used a 12-LED bulb for the map, I can't imagine how bright that is, the 5-LED is plenty.

Thanks , i will probably order some extra bulbs aswell just to have on hand.. Is there any coupon going around that you know of for VLEDs? I will most likely go ahead and order from VLEDs soon so I can change the bulbs because I have the illuminated kickplates on my G and dont like at night that the doors and map lights light up yellow.. i want a more true white color to the interior and hopefully these will do..

Oh hey I was also wondering if those same bulbs will go with the lights that are for the back doors because I have a sedan? There is 1 light on each side in the back and was wondering if those will be the same bulbs to replace with the ones from the map, door and license??

^ My guess is yes but I don't have a sedan. What does the manual say for the door bulbs? If it's 168/194 type, then those are the same the coupe uses

I'd imagine so! Seems kinda silly to have totally different bulbs. lol

----------------

I'm starting out slow with this. Got my license plate bulbs today, and just put them on. Took all of 5 minutes... maybe less. Much brighter than those lame OEM bulbs.

I tried to find DIYs with pictures or clear instructions on how to change the bulb on the door, but seem to have no luck. Can someone point me in the right direction or direct me to the link that shows how to do it?

My difficulty is that I can't get the bulb out to replace with LED after popping the whole unit out of the driver and passenger doors.

They're a bit stiff but they come out. Try wrapping some floss or fishing line around the bulb and then pull it out. Wont harm the bulb like vice grips would

You're saying the little light bulb may be pulled out via the side? That's interesting lol

Thanks for the tip, will try soon.

whenever i work with plastic on cars i make sure (if i like the car) to park it in the sun for an hour before i do anything. everything will become softer and less prone to break.

P.S. This one for the trunk is flippin' AWESOME... the plastic dome won't fit over it though (I may just cut it off lol), but it's BRIGHT! I'll try and take a night-time pic this weekend.
