Cup Holder Cover

Idk if this is the area to put this but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this problem. Well I just got home right now and noticed that my cup holder cover or lid in the front was sunk in and loose from one side. Does anyone know if I have to remove the whole section to fix it or can I do it from there?? Any advise will be useful. Thanks

The cover is part of the slip in cup holders (they do slide out of the base in the center console). I know this because the used G we bought was missing the spring loaded section under the cover that adjust to the cup size. And of course, you just can't buy those. Now I didn't install the new cover as I didn't need it (saving in case mine breaks) so I can't tell ya how it installs.

Here are some pics of the problem. in 2 of them you can see that its no longer flush but sunk in now. And on the other one the little hinge or part is loose or broken. It just wiggles around. Any advise for this? do you think it may be covered by warranty

ooh that sucks.

It looks like the hinge is broken, do you lean your elbow on it or something?

Id take it to the dealer and play dumb and see if theyll replace it.

No I don't lean on it at all. I hardly even use it...what should I say to the dealer? What excuse?

I would just say you usually have it open, and one day you closed it and saw it like that.

Thats a good one. Hopefully they do fall for it and replace it. I've already had enough problems with this G and I don't need another one.

my dealership replaced it for me, but again i only had the car for 2 months when that happened so i bitched at them and they did it for me for no charge.

otherwise in vancouver, they said the parts was suppose to be around 65 bucks and labour... depends on your location

Oooh man I had my G for almost 2 years now. I hope they don't give me that much trouble to replace it. So far my dealer has been good with all my troubles so maybe that's a good sign
