Small dents. What is best way to deal with it?
Hello.
I have some questions.
I have a 2009 G37S Coupe Black one.
And Today, like 10 minutes ago, I was comming into parking lot,
where there is a front gate. (Because I'm a university student so, I park at where students park where it is strictly limited to permitted students.)
So there is a huge fenced metal sliding door in front of these parking lots.
I was going into it and the metal door closed on me while i was staring to go in.
The door hit the right side of my car, right above the front wheel.
and made scratches and dents. (this part is small part of the frame so I was thinking if I should change the whole part, or..)
May be I am being just too sensitive, but
I only had my car for like two weeks and I was so pissed.
I am not asking about who's fault it is, or how should I complain it to school, but I would like to know.
How to deal with this, and is best way to fix it.
For some people, they wouldn't think it is that big of a deal (may be because the scratch and dents not noticeable), but I really want to keep my car as new condition as possible, and to be perfect.
What should I do?
I called infiniti maintanance and they told me to bring car on monday.
he told me they have to take a look at it first, but I would expect around 100 to 150 (but not sure if that is just put paint on noticeable scratches, just leaving the dents)
Is it best for me to do it in the dealership?
and is it better to change the whole part? (how much would that cost...?)
to make it good as new?
Or is there way to remove dents?
I really want to fix this but don't know what steps I should take to fix this, although some people will be ignorant about small scratches or dents.
give me some advice please ^^

Dings are fixable by your local DentWizard. Dents (usually a ding with a crease) are not and will require the entire section to be filled and painted. These cars have no door guards so you have to be extremely careful with them if you dont want door dings/dents.

Small dents can be "popped" out without requiring paint. If it has a crease, it may still be popped out and look better, but not perfect. It may or may not require filler and paint. Need photos.

I can understand you caring so much about your car, if anything or anyone hits my car they get a metal baseball bat to the face And +1 Black Betty... You can pretty much just pop em out and it may or may not require paint. WE NNNNNEEEEDDD PICCCSSS

A good friend of mine does PDR, paintless dent repair, and has for probably 20+ years. He can pop out dents in <5 minutes that you would think could never be repaired w/o serious body work....crease/no crease...doesn't matter. Try to find yourself a good PDR guy. They regularly make rounds at dealers, especially luxury dealers. Walk a pre-owned car lot, if you can't see a dent on a vehicle, I'd go talk to the pre-owned manager and try to get his pdr guy's number. Making a cash deal w/a guy should save you some $ too.
