so what do you guys think about the law rules about the percentages? agree by them or forget about them and get as dark as you want. has anyone in hear ever gotten pulled over for having to dark of a tint or failed a inspection sticker that some states make you get yearly to make sure your car passes emissions?

I’m sorry, but no one cannot defy the laws of physics by saying that they see fine at night with 50% on the windshield, unless of course, their real name is Clark Kent and they’re using x-ray vision.

It’s understandable that they may be sincere in thinking they can see all right with such a handicap but sadly, this perception is fraught with danger for both themselves and others on the road. The laws against such tints are there for a reason, and we should all keep that in mind.

so how do u feel about a 15 or 20 % tint? do u think you will have trouble with cops eventually when u get pulled over?

My emphasis is not on whether one gets pulled over or not. That IMHO is not the most important consideration. What we should be considering when deciding on what tint to install is the safety factor. And certain tints, especially on the front windshield, are inherently dangerous.

i understand. how do u feel about the sides and way back window percentages?...if someone already had a certain tint on their windows and wanted to go darker do they take the old tint off and put new ones on or lay it on right over it?

Dark side and back window tints are often too dark for my tastes, but they’re often legal so it becomes a personal decision. But backing up at night, for example, with 5% and no backup camera can be a risky move. I would also fear changing lanes on a dark road at night with 20% on the sides.

As far as taking old tint off I will leave that for the experts. My sense is, however, it is never wise to lay new tint over an older installation.

if u have a black car with dark interior and get 35 percent on the 4 windows and 15 or 18 percent on the rear back window dont u think the windows will be dark and look black?

Yes, of course. Just be sure you roll down your driver's window if you ever get pulled over.

how much darker do the windows look if u had a car with light interior white outside and 35 percent on the windows with 18 on the rear?

i know im just wondering if you think black on black with 35 on 4 door windows and 18 on rear back will look black like a 20 percent?

I have black on black with 35%...it does look darker than 35%. However i like it a little darker, i'm going to be switching to 20% in the next few weeks. As far as driving at night, i can see perfectly out with 35. And any tint on the windshield i think is insane, not worth the look to not be able to see at night.

I have 15 percent all around in PA. Had same tint on my old cars and never got a ticket; had a couple warnings though.

hard to see at night reversing but thats what the camera is for

20% on all windows except the front windshield...Wish I went a little bit darker

15% down and its dark at night and not easy to see out the windows.

Thats the drawback to darker tints. For me to back out my driveway at night ( I have 10%) all around) I have to wind down the windows so I dont hit something.

In Miami everyone has tints so Cops don't really care. Now if you live up North with tints you'll get roped! Also if your car looks Ghetto you will always get roped!
