What I dont understand is that they posted a picture of a trunk that was done at first. Which means that there is a mold made. It should not take this long to do the trunk once the mold is made. I know how it works bc Autokits has done the valence, and once they show you a picture of the product it means the mold is done, plain and simple.

I can't see the photo but from the old pic, it did remind me of the 6 series trunk. I think it's because the slope of our trunk + the size of the duck bill.
Anyway, about the mold process. If it's a new part, they could have made the prototype first. Then make a mold from that. Once the mold is done, it would be quick to produce.
For example, the CF mirror covers with fins. First a prototype must be made out of fiberglass or something. Once the fitment and design is confirmed. The prototype will be used to make the (female) mold. Once that's done, the resulting parts can be produced.
I know that motorlux has a place in so cal that does the measuring and other parts of producing parts (since I've been there). But the actual mold making and/or production is done elsewhere, I think in norcal. It could contribute more down time.
