headlights flicker

The headlights, most noticeable at night, flickers when the accelerator is blip/tap. I was able to reproduce it every time, has any one notice the phenomenon? all the other lighting also flickers, but headlights are more noticeable. don't tell me that its normal, I wouldn't believe it One reasonable approach I can think is all the current are being sucked up by the distributor when the accelerator is press, but that's just not suppose to happen in my opinion... There shouldn't be a temporary lack of current

Do you have aftermarket bulbs? If not then I'd take it to the dealer, that shouldn't be normal.

this seems like it would go with the issue of everyone's bad OEM battery

Maybe the battery is weak or improper grounding? Either way, it's not suppose to happen and I don't think it's happened to anyone else. Dealership should take care of it under warranty.

I just noticed my car doing the exact same thing when I blip the throttle to rev match on downshifts at night. Tomorrow morning I have an oil change scheduled, so I'm going to have them check it out. I'll let you know what they say.

^They might try to blame it on the work done to the lights.

Well, I just dropped the car off at the dealer this evening and took a loaner, 09 4dr 37x, and I tested it with the throttle blip and it did the exact same thing with the lights. I am sure they wouldn't be able to figure out what's going on... prob. a "all Infiniti does this" respond. Like other had opinionated, a combination of battery and weak grounds are to blame. But I couldn't get over the fact that my 88' Accord didn't do this type of thing. And I also reported the engine noise 'crack' during cold starts, for which they changed my engine at around 6k miles after I went to the BBB, the car now has 12k miles and the noise still exists.

They give you a new engine? What what the problem?

I don't believe I have the flicker problem in my 08 G37S.

https://www.myg37.com/forums/engine-...-start-up.html

that's the link and it goes into more depth, sound clips and Youtube link.... for the engine noise

The flicker problem is very subtle but noticeable, especially at night. with your headlights against garage door, blip the accelerator, quick tap - enough to make the rpm jumps between 1k ~ 2k.

Haha, I'd still take it in, it's worth a shot. If not, I would take the car to Pep Boys or somewhere and have them check the battery and make sure it's got enough juice left. If that checks out too, I'd get BB's grounding kit.

I just had an oil change and asked them to test the battery (didn't mention the flicker because I didn't want to bring attention to the custom headlights). The battery tested absolutely perfect, so the flicker has to be a grounding issue. As long as my battery is fine, I'm not worried about it.

BB's grounding kit should help out with this. I've got one and haven't noticed any flickering.
