180 Custom Headlight Mods
This past weekend my wife and I had to go to Long Island for a wedding, so I made a pit stop to see Igor and Stoof @ 180 Customs to get rid of the amber in my headlights.
I chose to go for a more OEM look rather than the complete custom look and just get the side strip painted BO to match my paint color. I think that for those who want to keep it OEM looking but hate the amber, having it painted the same body color as your car is a good way to go. I really like the look of the stock wheels, so I decided to keep the chrome accents in the front grill, rear spoiler, and in the headlights
I sent numerous PM's to Stoof in advance and he never took more than a day to respond to me..... and when I say advance, I mean like 2 months.
I debated between the LED SS, Ironman, and then just upgrading to HID fogs so due to my indecision, I decided to just do the BO painted SS for now and go to a few meets and check out others headlights.
Igor and Stoof dont advertise this, but they had chrome dipped turn signals, HPAuto 6000k HIDs and bulbs to go in the parking light which I found out about. For anyone sending in their headlights for work, if you ask, you have the option to switch out your turn signals to get rid of the amber and upgrade to 6000k HIDs which match the LEDs.
Since I wanted to get rid of the amber completely, I put in the full chrome turn signals. When you look at the headlights or take pictures, they reflect chrome, not the amber that the stock ones do. They illuminate amber when they are turned on, and thats it. Light output is only slightly decreased over stock and they look 100 times better.
I also was planning on upgrading to 6000k HIDs but once I found out they carried them in stock, I just had them do it for simplicity's sake. Since Igor was taking the headlights apart, it took him an extra few seconds to switch the bulbs.
Also, there is a pizza place on the corner right next to the shop which makes a bangin brick oven margarita pizza which I did for lunch. Overall, from start to finish it took about 90 minutes, so I dropped the car off, we just did a recap of what I wanted, headed next door for lunch, and when I was done with lunch they were just popping the headlights back on my car.
Enjoy the pics!
^ Note that the "amber" colors you see in this picture are the reflection of the tree leaves in my front yard. The car was waxxed last weekend and had a little reflection on the closer pics.

I debated that. In my old car (Mazda6) I swapped out the amber sides for clear sides and put in an LED bulb. Got pulled over a few times for speeding and I always put on my hazard lights, which turned on the turn signals, which flashed yellow in the housing.
Thats been my strategy so far.
Also, a painted black sidemarker also isnt as flashy as the iron man, LED SS, or people with different colors in the front of their car. I think you are more likely to get pulled over with one of those combinations as this one, IMO, looks very stock.
