Side-View Mirror back cap removal?

...Ok maybe I didn't phrase it right. But has anyone removed the painted back cap section on the side-view mirrors?

If so how did you do it?

From what I was told they come off without having to remove the side-view mirrors.

One of mine got scraped at my job and I want to get it painted without having to remove the whole mirror or even put the car in the shop lol!

Fold mirror in. And there is a little lip to grab. Abd just pull it'll pop right off. To put back on. Just Line up tabs abd push untill they all click in.
