Lets just put it this way....


Out of all the G37s on here, yours is the ONLY one that had to have the trim cut.

Believe it or not, the moving windows are much easier to do than the stationary ones in the back. Sure, they can use precuts on the moving ones because the top edge is clearly defined and the side(s) and bottom are tucked into the weather strip.

There are too many variations in the stationary window because it has fixed weather strip all the way around and there is no way a computer cut will go in there perfectly. There will always be edge gaps or overlap because excess film can't be slid under there.

The best installers almost always do custom cuts on the fixed window, but they will not take a chunk out of the weather strip when doing so. They can also usually size it faster than a plotter can cut it.

A couple of things to look for in a good shop ... they always mask off the door panels with plastic to keep them from getting soaked. They NEVER remove any panels. They will do the rear window using one sheet (at least on the V36 sedan) without cuts and without removing the third brake light cover.
