I have tried to modify the bulbs and it is NOT easy. The easiest thing to do is... when you take it apart, there is a little slot that the manufacturer slides the "Infiniti" name plate in and you can just insert a colored gel in there. You can get the gels at camera stores I think.

You can see the row of LED's just below the placard

wow thats way beyond something I would want to try. Too much of a risk it seems. The gell is a good idea though. Is the kick plate something a person who had never been in your car before would notice. Like before enterring your car will they look down and think "oh wow" rather than staring at at the interior of your car for a place for their hand and your seat for a place for their bum?

I got mine with the illuminated kickplates and they can only be noticed at night, obviously. They look pretty cool though, and peolple getting into ur car will notice them.

Actually it is easy to put in a gel in it. Basically you cut the silicone around the light enclosure pull it up from the aluminum kick plate and you can cut the gel to size and insert it in. It should look like the first piture. Stick the lighted enclosure back on the kick plate and resilicone the light enclosure. You don't have to take it apart as much as I did... I only did it to see if the LEDs could be replaced. Any other questions let me know.

Yeah people notice the illuminated kick plates all the time for me. I would say every 4th person to enter my car sees them and compliments them.

I wish my G had come with them....even called my service guy and he said that it's going to be a PRICEY addition (around/over $600) for parts and installation. He also notes that a LOT of major interior pieces have to be removed/replaced. Sorry, not worth it to me....even though I think they're sexy.

I had my dealership install mine for 100.00 . It does require 2 hrs of removing this and that , but it looks sweet now...

The only thing that is REPLACED is the kick plates, and you pretty much only have to remove the door threshold trim and the foot well kick panels.
