it came out real well and adds a nice subtle touch at night

Where is the plug you tap into for this?

I can make this myself for uber cheap, no need to spend 120+ for 2 leds and some wire.

You "Y" cable off the Glove Box light power. The lights come on only when the headlights are on (same for glove box). The kit is nice, the LED's are a nice assembly. They have a larger rounded head that protects the raw LED's. You don't have to have a 10.5mm drill, just use the one closest in size (smaller than actual) and after drilling the holes, rotate the running drill in a circular motion to slightly enlarge the hole. Doesn't have to be exact as there in room for error. The exposed part of the LED and the nut used to hold it are large enough to cover a slightly larger hole if you get it to big. I just used my drill procedure a few times to get the right hole.

And highly second the notion to do your glove box LED and cabin air filter while it's all apart.

Yes, it's over priced and yes it can be made for cheaper but many of us don't want the hassle. Here is an opportunity for someone to create a kit at half the cost.

That would be great! I did this with some red hyper LEDs and tapped into the center console for my '04. A neat plug in sounds good.

Thanks

Note : today I went to my dealer for free first oil change and picked up the kit while I was there. Read the instructions while I waited. Not bad at all. Hell, I pulled apart the dashboard of my last G to hardwire it for ipod play. Glovebox V-Leds are on the way. I'll do it all at once prolly next weekend.

I got quoted for $180 to have these installed at my dealer. Not including the lighting kit, just labor only.

You guys think it's worth it? Don't want to mess up any panels in there.

Way too expensive, does not take that long to install. One hour at the most, the illuminated sills take longer.

It is not that bad. The instructions in the kit are good enough that you don't need a DIY. The glove box is kind of a pain, but it is good to know how to take it off since you will need to when you change in-cabin air filters. This over time will save you time a lot of money even if you don't do the lights.

Yeah the "hardest" part is the glove box and it's not that hard. You might as well replace your cabin filter as well and LED while it's out . Here is a DIY for the glove box removal.
