Looks great! I finally saw this grille in person at my dealership yesterday on the G37 convertible. They actually have the "Bloomingdale's Edition" in the showroom. The black grille looks sweet. Might have to get one on my G coupe one day.

I assume the only benefit of buying this rather than getting your grill custom painted is you wont get rock chips so easily.

Yea I had a couple body shops refuse to paint my grill and chrome piece on my trunk. They said it would start to get rock chips and they cant get the paint to adhere completely. I assumsed they were telling the truth if they were turning away a job

I got a professional shop to do it for my car. Hasn't had a chip yet and it's been about 5000 miles since I got it done. I got them to use PPG urethane paint (which is illegal in Cali now). That water base paint is crap that cali makes all autobody shops adhere too but if you find the right one, they will do it. =) However, its hell trying to dechrome it before you paint.

The Midnight Black Front Grill looks great on white ones, plus if you add on a chin spoiler, then it will be perfect.

personally, I didn't bother to remove the chrome, I used a grey primer with 2 coats, 3 coats of the paint I chose, which was a high temp paint I've used on calipers before, then 3 coats of clearcoat.

almost 3 months since I painted, no chips, no peeling, and I drive to work past plenty of constrution sites too, the way I see it if it was going to peel it would have done so already
