So I brought my car to a body shop that I trust and asked how much it would be to paint the stock chrome lip spoiler to match the car. They said if they painted the chrome lip spoiler the paint would flake off soon and that I should not do it. Is this true? For the people who painted their chrome lip spoiler, is the paint flaking off? Thanks.

 

Is true. They have to sand it down. Get an overlay.

 

If your gonna spend money on trying to paint it.. then just get a spoiler instead... duh.

 

It's all in the prepping of the chrome piece and the quality of paint they use to paint it. It took my body shop 2 hours just to prep the chrome piece on the trunk.

 

bring it back to the shop and have them repaint them

 

Just buy the pre-painted spoiler or get an overlay

 

I am selling my spoiler over if your interested. I'm getting my spoiler painted and it's gonna take atleast 3-4 days to do.
