how to black out spoiler brake light?

whats up,

i want to paint my spoiler brake light in black, how do i remove it so i could send it off to my bodyshop?

They sell overlays for the brake light.

Here is before and after of overlay from blue_batmobile. Nice thing is that is easy to remove if you want to. And people can still see the brakelight. If you want red-out, he has that too.

i would use the overlays, but its not dark enough, i want it to blend into the spoiler, so painting it black will be better imo

I have the bat overlay as well. It gives u the smoked look. I love it.

Ask bat_mobile, but think he has darker overlay. You can do it twice too. Paint if you want, but lot more work and $. Let us know how it goes.

The spoiler is held on by three or four nuts and a lot of two sided tape. Removing the trunk lid interior piece will expose the nuts and studs. There's a post or two showing how to do this exact thing on here, try a search.

If you are going to paint it black, why not take the extra step and get it complete molded in. I think it will look bad painted with an edge all the way around. But if you had the thing completely shaved, that would look a lot better.

Good idea. And probably paint the entire spoiler and not try to blend in.

Look at my pics, i have the spoiler with no brake light installed. bought it at the infiniti dealership that way.
