Auto headlights come on too fast

I noticed that the auto-headlights come on too fast when encountering dark conditions which causes the headlights to keep switching on and off when traveling through Southern California maze of bridges and intersections. I'm concerned that this may shorten the life of the HID lights.

I did put the auto headlight sensitivity to its minimum level, but the lights still come one within 2 seconds when dark conditions are encountered.

Can the dealer alter the settings of the auto-headlights by putting a delay of like 10 seconds before they turn on?

you can adjust this by the way.

Press the SETTINGS button

Then choose Comfort and Conv option

I did see that you already have it set to the min setting. But just in case anyone else needs to see how to get there. Im going to go ahead and leave this post.

Maybe we should just leave the HIDs on all the time. HID bulbs last for quite while so it won't burn out nearly as fast as halogen bulbs.

+1. They shouldn't burn out for a LONG time.

I would advise the OP to just turn the headlights on whenever he's driving. Turning HIDs on and off frequently damages them way more than leaving them on for a long time ever will.
