Portside options are put on after the car gets here at the port. (minor stuff like splash guards)

LOL... but it's not necessarily about whether or not the car itself is exclusive. Those who market the car likely ask themselves- what's going to sell the car and what can we exclude and still sell the car at $X dollars.

For the Maxima to compete with other brands in its brand lineup and within it's class , power folding mirrors gives it some exclusivity in that regard. People will ask themselves- why should I buy a Maxima over a fully loaded Altima- power folding mirrors gives them an added sales gimick.

The G however sells itself even without it whereas brands like the FX and QX benefit more from it. It also adds an additional level of luxury within its brand lineup.

dont think kp can do this cus, there's no motor to make the mirrrors fold.. so electronically speaking, nothing they can do about that.

That's where the motor from the 09 FX can come into play

The G will eventually have this feature. The around view monitor started on the EX and is now on the FX. Each original feature will slowly make its way throughout the full model line. It s just a matter of time.

silly trinkets i'd hope they'd keep optional if they implement at all, as i'd much rather save the weight than have those sort of features.

My '09 FX 35 has that feature and, of course, my '09 G37 Vert doesn't so I asked the dealer and his answer was that the FX has folding mirrors because it is wider and you may have to fold the mirrors at car washes or parkades, etc.
Almost all the SUVs and some of the higher-end pickups I've seen have that feature.

I believe the 2011 convertible has the power folding mirrors. If someone really wanted them, you can order the mirrors from the dealership and retrofit them.

It's where they install some options. At Port of Long Beach.
Like spoilers, and wheel options.

Our 370GT's out of Japan have folding mirrors so it couldn't be hard to do to the G37 seeing as it is basically the same car. You could also get our forward facing mirror camera but it would be on the wrong side.
