He might think so, but once that's in the body shop. They'll take care of all the work. He might be able to get the shop doing the repairs to paint the housings, but hes' not going to be allowed to take his lights and have insurance cut a seperate check for him installing LEDs. Either he pays all up front in which case he'll have to show reciepts for reimbursement. And when they see and extra reciept for LED install or some frivolous charges incorporated with the headlights, he'll either if he's lucky just get denied reimbursement. Or they could prosecute for Insurance Fraud.

Sorry to burst your bubble. You might be able to get some painted housings, but you'll never get Insurance to cover your bill for Igor or Bruin to mod the headlights.

Yes. I spoke with the body shop and the manager confirmed. He is going to give me the old lights to keep. My plan of action is to mod the old ones since they are in damn good condition. Once complete, then I'll swap old lights to new and hold on to the spares just incase.

I really want to do something with the strip of orange up the side. I was thinking about the Luxeon Star white surface mount LED's in a row going up the strip. IDK. i like the iron man look, but I want to make sure that everything I do does not affect the AFS.

I am also thinking about painting the headlights black. To answer a previous question, my car is BO and completely stock. I want to do something classy to set it apart from all the other g's in the area. I would love to do it myself, but I'm afraid that I won't know what to do.

I guess I didn't make my original post clear enough. I am not intending for insurance to pay for the modding. That's going to come out of my pocket. They are, however, paying for a new set of headlights.

Then more power to you. Maybe if the shop is cool, they order the headlights in advance so while the other work is going on you can do you lights to minimize your total downtime.

They very well might. The guy at the body shop is a really nice guy. He always hooks me up.

I looked at enough pictures. I like the Ironman 2.0. It looks so clean. I think that with an LED strip up the side and painting the housing black will look cleannnnn.

Its really just more so where you live. Like it was said earlier, West Coast is Bruin, and East Coast is Igor. Slight differences in style, but if your in the Midwest I guess either would be about the same time frame.
