Don't worry bout that... you can see the brake lights just fine even with painted tails... not as clear as normal taillights but it shouldnt be an issue. Insurance is tricky tho

my buddy who works at a body shop helped me out with mine...he's done alot of people for them.
used VHT Nitshades...still need to clearcoat them and buff it though, so its a little dull but doesn't look that bad for now.

Different paint and body shops will use different things to get the look you're after. One shop may use off the shelf products (which you may as just do it yourself) while another will take their clearcoat and add color to it to create the tint. I like the tinted clear because it is the best quality product.

if you dont file a police report you might be able to have the body shop swap the lights to stocks for insurance reasons...but im not sure..honestly the paint allows more than enough ligh through...if anything ide say its better during the day because the black becomes lit up with red as compare to the stock red becoming more red lol

I just picked my tail lights up last weekend from a body shop and had them professionally painted. The shop charged me $100 for both lights, and they came out 100 times better than I thought they would. I would also strongly recommend that you get them professionally painted. You will be satisfied. I will post some pics up when I get a chance to take them.
