I just looked at my stock housing and honestly, if i'm not looking straight plane at the bulb, I don't even see an orange reflection as how the OP demonstrated in his original post.
Is there something I'm missing?

Not necessarily. Dual filament is meant for cars that use their parking lamp as both a daytime running light and a turn signal. One filament is always on while the other one blinks when the turn signal is engaged. The G37 turn signal is used for just being a turn signal (our parking light is in the fog light housing), so we only need single filament.
