Engine Bay Thread

Drive Clean that's cool I like it. Definitely unique. Mine will be more traditional when I get it in a couple weeks. Currently I have Z1 blue hoses, Stillen oil cap, Z1 radiator cap, Gen 3 intakes, but soon I'll have Successful Automotive CF battery cover, brake fluid cover, radiator shroud and engine cover. I hope it looks as tight as yours.
I haven't found a good way to remove it, the girlfriend and I just took a flathead screwdriver and lightly scraped it all off. The flathead will sometimes scratch the paint in the engine bay, but it's still way better than the wax being there. I wonder if the wax was only applied on Canadian cars?

It's a rust preventative/inhibiter. Probably cosmoline, or something similar. The previous owner likely paid for a "rust-proofing" scam. Helpful maybe for a brand new 1975 Ford Granada, but pointless today.

Yeah mines the same stuff. I'm not going to scrape it all off, since it's on all the exposed paint and bolts. Would be nice if something would dissolve it and not harm the plastics and rubber in the bay.

Love the engine bays in this thread. My dad is headed to Japan later this month and I've asked him to see if he can get any of those nice JDM pieces while he's over there for me.
Question: any recommendations for a painter for the engine cover/radiator cover/battery covers? I would like something more professional than what I can do with my limited DIY skills. I love the work done by JPSBLACK37 but I understand he no longer is doing work in this area (I PM'd him months ago but never heard a response -- heard he has a new baby which I'm sure is justifiably sucking up all his free time). I'd appreciate any recommendations for someone who can do similar work.
