15% and its sexy
If your not doing anything to draw attention to your car you wont ever get in trouble for it.... people who drive like idiots need to stay with legal tint. |
I never had any issues with my tint, nor do i really have any visibility problems. Its a personal preference to judge just how "dark" tints really are. Some people can't even stand legal tints, and some can see just fine with 20%. Of course, there are others that roll down windows anyways, so i don't see an issue.
I suppose 5% is illegal not only because visibility is too poor, but because it helps the police see into the car and to assess any dangers before approaching the said vehicle. There is a level of privacy that comes with darker tints, and thats the reason why i opt for them. I have not been hassled by the police EVER for my tints, but i don't do things to get pulled over. |

Other than the 70% tint on the front windshield that came with the car, yes. In fact, other than changing the radio presets and adjusting the front seats, my car is completely stock. :JAMIN:
Ok now I'm confused. :icon43: :thewave: |

Wait a minute. So you're telling me the 72 year-old man I saw in a Blue Slate with 20" rims, lowered, limo tint, and blasting his Tupac songs and throwing up the Westside "W" on the 10 freeway last night wasn't you????
Ok now I'm confused. :icon43: :thewave: http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...37-12Gcopy.jpg It comes with: • Waterproof seats • A cane rack • In-dash hearing aide battery dispenser • Owner’s manual in 20pt type • Built in oxygen tank and mask • Hard drive preloaded with fifteen Lawrence Welk CD’s  |
Dark as legal for me. Already had one horrible run in with the popo many years ago because of my windows being too dark.
|
IMO, you have to have at least 25%. It is worth the ticket, if you actually do get pulled over. Without any tint, the car is just too hot and the UV rays will damage your interior. The color of your interior also has some affect with how dark your tint appears to be.
If you want to be safe and you live in a highly restrictive state, then my suggestion would be 20-25%. Looks good, provides some privacy, and keeps the glare and heat away. |

No, like I said in another thread, I have the G (Geriatric) model. Here’s my car:

I don't get tint because I think it looks better, I get tint because it cuts down on the glare when driving. My eyes are very sensative to the light and driving around all day in a fishbowl gives me a headache. |
once you go 5 you never go back:biggthumpup:

5 is way to dark if you actually want to be able to see out your windows at night.

20% ftw!!!

The tint laws are there for a purpose, and that purpose is obviously to enhance public safety. If anyone thinks that 5%-20% on a front windshield is perfectly safe for night driving, then help get the law changed in your state. Otherwise, you have an obligation to obey the law as it currently exists. I can picture some “hot” owner here trying to rationalize why they killed some five year-old trying to cross a street after sunset one dark night by saying that, after all, they had the illegal tint to keep their car cooler during the day. Tell it to his or her parents at the funeral-- if you ever get out of jail to attend. |

Well, the general feeling is that when you drive a G37 coupe you don’t need Viagra at any age. :)

We are not talking about putting tint on our windshield......at least 99.9% arent. Only on the sides and back. Also, 99% of people with tint have never even come close to injuring someone because their tint is too dark.
Regarding 99% never coming close to injuring someone, please be reminded that the Captain of the Titanic crossed the Atlantic for 30 years and never hit an iceberg—until that last time of course. |
