Glove Compartment LED Trouble

Ok today I recieved my LEDs for my car, I unclipped the glove compartment plastic pieces that were holding the lights outside of the the inside of the glove compartment, if that makes sense. And was trying to get the plastic thing out (the light is inside the plastic thing) and it slipped and went up into the car and now I can't get it out. So my question is how do I get the plastic thing (that the light is in) out of the inside of my glove compartment, sorry if thats kind of confusing. its kind of hard to explain, here an image:

Thanks for the help!

Maybe Finangle69 can chime in on this because he had the same issue. Both he and I took my entire glove compartment apart to get to the ECU and the AC air filter. That light housing clips from the top, which means you will have to take the glove compartment apart. Start by looking directly at it, opening the door and poping off the side piece that looks like a triangular part. This is hard to explain but if you were standing outside the car, open the door and look where the hinges are and look where there is a flat plastic piece that basically covers the end of the dash, pop that off.

Then open the glove box and unscrew the 4 screws at the top and there should be two screws located at the bottom of the box. These are only visible when the box is open. If you look in your picture you can see one of the screws. Once all the screws are out, you want to basically jimmy the box part away from the glove compartment. Let's say the light you are trying to fix is part of the glove compartment, whereas the glove box is seprate and must be pulled away.

Once the box is out you can pull the compartment out, but be CAREFUL not to bend the washi aluminum trim. Most of this takes some pulling and tugging to get it away from each other and once it is, you will see how that little piece clips back into the top of the glove compartment.

It is seriously complicated to fix such a small thing. But I would be interested if others have an easier way.

Well that does sound kind of complicated, I don't think I'm in for doing all that, do you think the dealer would do it?

And after all this trouble is done, what kind of LED does the glove box use? x5, x12, etc?

Both smart and serious. It's a small area. Use plastic fuse tweezers if possible.

Plastic fuse puller. You have to buy it. Any auto store should carry it.

That sounds like a pain in the A for such a small task.

I know it would work. Tiny situations call for tiny tools.

Patience my friend... Patience. I'm all for taking my wheels off to change a bulb. Not so much for taking apart my dash for a glove box I rarely open.

But I guess living in Vegas you need to see all your cash and chips clearly

UPDATE: Ok so no luck with getting that little plastic piece out. So what I'm going to do is go to a dealer and ask if they can help me.
