Exactly why I posted the question. I want to use the factory alarm so I can only have one key. I like having the fob as basic as possible with just my apartment key on it.

I have an 09 so I guess this would be plug and play with my car, I might have to pick this up.

I just got mine today from grubbs. It is not exactly just plug and play it has 3 wires that tap into BCM wires and a ground that has to be connected... but it does seem pretty simple to do just looking at the instructions. I will post up more about it after i get it put in. It includes the sensor, instructions, wire ties, and even the wire tap connectors.

Thanks for taking the lead on this one. I was considering picking it up and being the experimenter to make a DIY for everyone. Let us know how it goes and post pictures of the install process.

I assume your car is Canada spec... US spec cars did not have it as an option in 2008.

UPDATE: I tried to install this today and 1 of the BCM wires to tap on the instructions is not on my car. Instructions say application is for g37 2008~ so this should work.

Anyone that has this installed I need to know what wire the BLUE sensor wire is connected to on the BCM. Instructions say PINK wire - cavity 122 on M123 BCM connector...but that cavity has no wire on my car.

^^Do you have an 08 or 09? I heard the instructions say 08-09 but it actually only works with the 09. Thats also what my service advisor told me.

2009 sport with navigation.....and this should def work on the 2008 i'm looking at the serv manual wiring right now and it matches the instructions.

Can anyone send me or post up the 2009 BCM connector reference that shows the pins and wire colors? i only have a 2008 manual & they are different.

I have a 2010 and successully installed the impact sensor. Since we can't link to other fourms, type in "2010 g37 impact sensor" into google. One of the first results will be a knowledgebase where u can register and download the correct instructions for the sensor
