LED parking light replacment bad idea

Yes its a bad idea!

The reason is LEDs don't like heat.

So if you put a LED bulb as replacement in the same hosing that has your FOG light(h1 bulb i think) you will bake your LED when your FOGs are on.

You will be changing them out quite frequently unless you don;t use your fogs.

I've got a good idea. Put a Orange marker bulb in there. This will extend parking light look and no tickets.

I'm doing it this week and will post back pictures.

Haha yes you will. Why are you switching bulb if you're sticking with the same/similar color? You can get PIAA city/parking lights. I think there are other LEDs that do last and are meant to be parking/city lights.

Where did you get your burned out LEDs, superbrite?

Yeah I've been getting all my LEDs from them.

They all say on the bulb packages - not to put in housing with headlights.

I did this a year ago with My last car and they baked.

Of course you are the guy to ask which LEDs will last in the Headlight housing.

PIAA?

You are responsible for the Arc Reactor right? Wish you guys where in Miami!

Yea superbrite LEDs have warnings against going that. You can try googling for PIAA xtreme white. Post pics for us once you're done.

Between x-vert and I, I think he is closer to you. But you can always ship them to me too

Thanks UCLA Bruin!

Yeah Id like to place an orange LED that matches the side marker orange there, but since its Orange it dosnt have to be a LED.

Since you do the light MODS what company do you buy your LED bulbs from - PIAA?

When I've got the money early next year and vehicle down-time I'll be looking to get the Light MOD you offer.

How long in turn-around time once you recive the lights?

Depends if you want to paint the housing or not.

I get my stuff from various places, local and online. If you're looking for city light bulbs, you can't go wrong with PIAAs.

Good luck.

Yeah I've been reading post but seemed to get a lot of back and forth opinions.

I'm sticking with the bulbs for headlights and LEDS for door lights/interior/liscence plate.

Thanks!

Changing the parking light on our car is the hard part. Why do Infiniti make it so tough to change bulbs. My arms always get shredded.

I am changing mine this weekend. Should I wait to do it when I get my springs installed and go through the wheel well.
