It won't come off, and it isn't a bad idea. However, I would prefer buying one from the dealer bc if there is something wrong with it, I'll blame those bastards. I don't know, maybe I just like spending money? Seems like it...

The guys over at Riverside Infiniti have the midnight grilles available for the G37 sedans and they fit the G35 sedan as well, but i'm not sure if they will work on the G37 coupe. I'll go and have them check it out for you guys. They seem to know a lot about these cars and the parts are readily available through them.

I spoke to the guys at Riverside Infiniti in CA and was told that they're looking into the black grill for the 08 Coupe. According to the guy I spoke to yesterday the grill is not yet available for the coupes but he should be getting it soon. Not sure what the price is but the stock grill is in the $150 range so I'm guessing the black one will be at least that much.
I'm very interested so if anyone's heard anything different let me know. I hate chrome.

^ I hate the chrome too. If there is a good looking black grille for the '08 coupe i'm in. i don't like to paint things, i always get the idea that its eventually going to chip away and look bad. That and i have had bad experience painting things..

Not sure about Tampa but around here a body shop won't even bother talking to you for $100.

I emailed one of the powder coating places near me (Tacoma, WA), and they quoted me at $115.00 + tax for sandblasting and then powder coating the grille glossy black. I'm probably going to get them to do the grille and the stock rims on my G37.
