Removing bat's overlays & headlight operating temp

Has anyone removed Bat's overlays before? I'm thinking you can just use a simple heat gun or blow dryer to soften up the overlay than peel it off?

Another and more important question: does anyone know the operating temperature for the projector in the headlight? Not the HID bulb, but the surrounding environment.

Thanks!
