...k... so I take the G in for it's 7.5K this week and ask about this noise and my service writer states that there is a TSB for it all that is needed is a clean and lube of the moonroof area. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt (and I was doubting that) so I said OK.

Needless to say I still have the noise coming from the A Pillar, but I think the clean and lube helped, so I think we are looking at 2 different sources of this creaking noise, both triggered by body flex.

Update: took the G in for my 11,250 and informed my service writer that the noise was still there (see post above). This time THEY FIXED IT. I was thinking that they couldn't do it to be honest. I wasn't even going to mention it. Anyway, here is what my service write up states:

"FOUND NOISE COMING FROM SUNROOF RAIL.
R&RED SUNROOF RAIL AND INSULATED"

I have had to get two rails ordered. the first one the dealer over nighted and it got damaged and the second time they shipped it slow freight and should be ready monday. hope it works.

What did they do the first 2 times?

My dealer took mine apart and couldnt figure out what the problem was. It is a very annoying sound.

the rivits come undone and they put in a whole new bracket. the first time they just bolted it back and it came undone.

The first time they put some bonding agent between the sheets of metal that were squeaking.

The second time they tightened some bolts around the side curtain airbag area. Each time fixed the problem temporarily. The first time for a number of months. The second time only for about a week.

well i took my car in last week (thursday) for the sun roof rack to be replaced cause a weld broke or something. They just finished yesterday (tuesday) and called me and said the noise is not better and they are taking it back a part and sending it to a body shop. My question is; What is a body shop going to do for my car?
