Recaro, Bride, Stock, or Other?

Seeing as how the stock seats are one of the heaviest things on our cars, just wanted to see what you guys think. I was thinking about replacing mine to reduce weight for track use and fuel economy. What would you change it to, if at all? Any experiences with these seats on previous cars, likes and dislikes? I think only a few people have changed the seats on their G37s and was wondering how they liked it, what brand they chose, and was it difficult to install? And does anyone know if changing the rails is required and where to get them from? Sorry mods if this is in the wrong section.

Is the G your daily driver? I would leave stock if I were you. MPG increase wouldn't be noticeable.

there is no point to changing the seats for weight.. unless you go to the track often, your car is a show car, you have a FULL weight reduction, or you do non-stop driving and the stock seats are not comfortable to you... Also if you change the seats you will most likely lose most of the seating features such as heated seats, power seats up/down, reclining, comfortability... etc.

Yes daily driver, but I bring my car to tracks fairly often. At least once every other week, if not every week.

Same as above. For me, I guess there would be a point.

I wish mine didn't come with the heated stuff. I live and Guam it's hot here all the time, actually wish under my seat was a cooler to keep beer and stuff in instead of the heating stuff. Power options I might miss, comfortability I am not very picky on that. I mean I am cool just as long as I am not sitting on a hard plastic seat or something. A small amount of cushioning is fine with me.

I love the stock seats myself and can't imagine changing them (unless I was seriously tracking the car)....

had the recaro on mine. I actually had the SPA kevlar seat and the leather sportster. They reduced a huge amount of weight. I could tell the difference. The recaro's are SICK! they are track and daily worthy. I have a bracket built if you decide to go with the SPA bucket seat for the driver. I mismathed mine with the thought i would track the car once in a while but never got around to it.

Go with recaro. Had many Brides and as much as I loved those seats, Recaros are just Recaros.

PM me if you got any more questions or want my bracket.

I think I read they save as much as 50lbs, I would say that is significant.

I like the Bride Gias Sports, thats what I was going to get for my G35.

Only thing that sucks is you lose the side airbags when you take the sealts out.
