Okay, good to come across this thread because I thought I was seeing things.. this recently has been happening to me and my lights were on AUTO. Happened twice in the past 3 days when it's dark.

I wonder is it a glitch.. I don't think Infiniti intended for the car to do that honestly.

This does not happen when the lights are on auto. This will happen like someone previous mention if you leave your headlights in the "on" position. Your headlights will still turn off after a certain amount of time.

I'm gonna check this again. I don't think I have ever left my headlight in the on position.

Nah, it happened to me when I was on auto. Most people always have their lights on auto anyways because when you leave the car with the lights ON and ENGINE off with DOORS open, it makes an annoying nonstop beeping sound.

But for sure, it happened to me on auto. The only problem is that it's not consistent nor can I duplicate it by choice but it rather happens randomly.

So obviously, once the lights are switched to "ON" then you may get what you're describing...

Again, not sure on this, just an educated guess.

I would suggest not guys, LOL. My battery died once because of my headlights staying on (it was not on Auto and they did not turn off).

After a night out this happened and I think I finally learned the trick.
1.When you park, make sure headlights are on auto
2. Switch headlights to off.
3. Turn car off
4. Open door
5. Switch headlights to auto
6. Get out car.
7. Lock doors.
8. Whether you come back in 1 minute, or 3 hours like I did, the headlights should come on like the luxury cars when you unlock the car via keyless entry or the FOB.

However, the moment you close the door it turns off when you get in. So start the car or switch the ignition to on after you open the doors if you want the lights to stay on. Makes getting in the car at night easier and more appealing. Hope this helps!
