Replacing inside door handle covers

Has anyone done this and how is it accomplished? It looks like they can be pried off and the new ones snapped in but any info would be greatly appreciated. I am thinking about replacing mine when the new Wasi ones come out.

There was 2 or 3 threads about this, either get overlays for it or get the Washi once they come out. Search for those threads though...

I want to know exactly how to remove and replace the metal handle covers. Not interested in overlays etc. I haven't seen any threads on removal and replacement with photos etc.

Most of the dealerships have replaced the handles for free or just for the price of replacements because of the scratching problem. It looks they would just clip on, but not sure how easy it would be to pry the old one off first.

Washi ?

I put black vinyl overlays on mine. When are the Washi ones coming out? Who will be selling them?

Is that a TSB or is that a "keep it on the DL unless asked about" ?

also... if someone takes them off... can you take a pic or 2 of the process for the community?

The second day that I had my car I took it in to have the windows tinted and they put a deep scratch in the driver side door handle cover. I was able to remove it myself and ordered a replacement for around $25 from my local dealer.

I don't have any pictures of the removal process, but it's not too bad. If you look at the under side of the handle cover, there is a small notch that you can use for prying the cover off. I used a small screwdriver wrapped in a light cloth so as not to mess up the door. It will take quite a bit of force to get the cover to release from the door itself, but just take it slow and work your way from the bottom (where the notch is at) to the top of the handle and it should eventually turn loose. Installing the new cover was a piece of cake as it just snapped back onto the door.

Does it have 2sided tape or does it just snap on and that's it?

Nope, no tape. It just snaps onto the door.
