Recommendations on HID's...
Quick question....are the HID bulbs simply plug&play? Meaning, can I take out the 4300K bulbs and buy 6000K or 8000K bulbs and just swap them into the G37 or do I need to buy a new ballast or something?
Which provide a farther view of the road...the 6k or the 8K?

6k has the cleanest look for "HID coloring". It offers the clearest color from far away as well as closer towards the car. As you may notice on factory HID kits, they often look beautiful from far away but as you get closer, the coloring looks "yellowish". This is the one complaint customers have. The 6k has a staggering look both up close and far away. As far as loss of vision, you really cant notice it that much. I have swapped the DS2 bulbs from my M3 to Upgraded 6k's and I must admit, the look is awesome. If anything, you will enjoy them more because the "whiteish" coloring from upclose will help clear things up in the road.

Lost of output from 4300K stock to 6000K is a minimum of 25%
some might say that is a lot, especially you pay a premium for the bulbs (if you buy quality ones like Philips)
If you really want a better output and slight whiter look, go with DL35 by Philips, it's up to 24% brighter than stock. PM me to order if interested.

Depending on what brand of 6000K's you get, the low quality one's are too blue and they're not bright enough in the dark. I initially switched my 4300K to some cheap 6000K(iJDM) and it sucked, then later I switched to some better quality 6000Ks(American Titan), it's the best looking HIDs I've ever seen with the best output.

+1000... The only aftermarket bulbs I ever purchased were 6k from www.xenondepot.com
They were Phillips bulbs and never gave me any problems.
